Arcadia at RE+ 2024: Exploring the future of clean energy

on September 6, 2024

Our entire industry is gearing up for the 20th anniversary of RE+, North America’s biggest event for the clean energy sector. Here at Arcadia, we’re thrilled to return and help lead the conversation as a sponsor. We’ll be in Anaheim all week long, connecting with industry leaders, innovators, and partners who share our commitment to the clean energy future.

What to expect: An energizing lineup

In addition to RE+ reunions with our friends and colleagues in the clean energy industry, there’s so much on the schedule that we’re looking forward to at this milestone year for the conference.

We’re biased, but if you’re passionate about community solar, add our panel to your agenda: "Trailblazing Clean Solutions for Community Empowerment," on Wednesday at 1pm. We’ll explore how innovative business models, bolstered by the Inflation Reduction Act, can address environmental injustice and disproportionately high energy burdens. Panelists Utopia Hill, Annie Lappé, Katie Ottenweller, and Mary Palmer will discuss alongside our own Joel Gamoran, VP & GM of Energy Services, as moderator. Add it to your schedule through the RE+ Connect app — you’ll see lots of Arcadians in the audience!

Beyond our own speakers, there are so many folks we’re looking forward to hearing from this year. In the Master Speaker Series, we’re particularly excited to catch Jigar Shah, Director of the Loan Programs Office at the U.S. Department of Energy, on the main stage to share insights into the federal government's vision for DERs in meeting load growth and building a more resilient, expansive, and efficient grid.

Making connections that spark innovation

We’re excited to hear from our colleagues off the stage, too. As Mike Munsell, VP of Brand Partnerships at Heatmap News, mentioned on the SunCast podcast: “The after-hours shows are packed with people, and there are so many events going on... oftentimes the conversations that you have during dinner; during the evening hours are just as impactful as those you have on the show floor.” If you’re hoping to connect with an Arcadia team member, though, the best way to ensure you catch us is to schedule a 1:1 meeting. Whether you're interested in our community solar program, our energy data platform, or our policy insights, we're here to explore how Arcadia can support your clean energy goals.

What we’re sharing

We’ve been working hard on building new solutions to connect the clean energy future here, and we’re thrilled to showcase them in Anaheim next week. Here’s what we’re excited to chat about.

Our data platform: We continue innovating on our data platform, unlocking access to global utility and tariff data and supporting a wide range of use cases. As we head into Anaheim, we’re particularly excited to announce our partnership with Subcontractor Hub to accelerate accurate solar and storage proposals using Arcadia’s industry-leading Switch solar savings and Plug interval data products.

Beyond that offering, we’ve been working on additional features to help solar, storage, and EV charging providers qualify customers, generate savings proposals, and conduct M&V with greater accuracy and efficiency. As the industry continues to evolve, we’re excited for conversations to inspire our team as we develop these solutions further.

Our community solar program: With over 2 GW of community solar capacity under management in 16 states across 700+ solar projects, Arcadia remains an industry leader in the community solar space. With support for community solar building among lawmakers and the public, we expect community solar to grow 118% over the next half-decade. But as Munsell pointed out, “It really is up in the air what happens in November [with the upcoming election]. What does that mean for the IRA?”

We’re eager to jump into the conversation around the election’s implications for the future of solar, and to keep tracking the latest market developments and opportunities for developers and businesses to know.

Empowering each other to create possibilities

As we celebrate two decades of RE+ and look forward to the next chapter in renewable energy, the Arcadia team is excited to meet with you in Anaheim and discover how we can work together to create a more sustainable, equitable energy future. See you there.
